Newsletter June 2016

Dear friends and readers,

A short update on the latest news from SUSTINOVA: upcoming Open House event, workshop and results from donor support pilot project.
Comments and questions can be posted below.

Open House series:

Open House with newTree |June 15, 2016, 18:00-20:00 | Erkerzimmer, Zentrum Karl der Grosse, Zürich

How much can a fence help farmer communities in regenerating their environment?
Our last Open House before the Summer break is with the Swiss NGO newTree. The project manager, Franziska Kaguembèga-Müller, will introduce us to the villages and fields of farmer families, moving encounters, new trees and 100'000 Energy-efficient cooking stoves.
Active in the Sahel region since 15 years, newTree develops their projects with the joint work from local communities. Their multi-sided approach involves creating land reserves for forest regeneration, using carbon compensation mechanisms and adopting practical solutions to improve the local livelihoods. The partners are responsible for contributing with their own work, which leads to motivated farmers, dynamic women groups and a living community.
You are warmly invited to join us for another informal evening discussion and ápero with professionals and people interested in the area. June 15, between 18:00 and 20:00 at the Erkerzimmer of the  Zentrum Karl der Grosse (near the Grossmunster Zürich). More details and registration here.

Attendance is free. Prior registration helps us with the planning but last-minute attendance is also possible.
