Die Entwicklung und Ausführung von Projekten ist eine zentrale Aktivität von NGOs. Ist die Finanzierung ausreichend und sind erste Resultate ermutigend, haben Projekte die Tendenz zu wachsen, sei es, weil sie ausgebaut werden oder weil sie repliziert werden. Welche Strategien und Modelle sind dabei in Betracht zu ziehen? Und, um ein Projekt für das Wachstum fit zu machen, welche Faktoren und Herausforderungen sollten von Beginn weg berücksichtigt werden?

In diesem Workshop werden wir den Input der Mava Foundation und myclimate dazu hören. Diese beiden Organisationen haben viel Erfahrung beim Aufsetzen und Unterstützen von Projekten, die von Partnerorganisationen entwickelt wurden.Wir werden auf Schlüsselaspekte beim Erweitern eines Projektes und auf die verschiedenen Herausforderungen, denen dabei begegnet werden kann, fokussieren: Finanzen, Personal, Wissen und  – hin und wieder – das Finden von geeigneten Partnern und Begünstigten. Der erste Teil wird eine Runde von Präsentationen und Diskussionen mit den Gastreferenten beinhalten; im zweiten Teil werden wir konkrete Fälle in der Gruppe analysieren, um echte Herausforderungen und die besten Vorgehensweisen zu identifizieren.

Die Teilnehmeranzahl wird jeweils ungefähr 10-20 betragen. Wir betrachten Themen aus verschieden Perspektiven heraus. Deshalb werden wir Beiträge verschiedener Stakeholder (NGOs, Stiftungen, Experten etc) einbeziehen und einen offenen Austausch fördern.

Interessierte Teilnehmende können vergangene oder aktuelle Fälle vorgängig einreichen, die dann im zweiten Teil des Workshops diskutiert werden.

Referenten

  • Marko has been part of the MAVA Foundation team  since 2011. He’s the Programme Officer for the Mediterranean Basin, in charge of the projects funded by MAVA in the Adriatic region as well as in Greece and in Turkey. A biologist by training with a master’s degree in Conservation Biology from Columbia University, his work and experience deal with the challenges in balancing conservation and development in a increasingly urbanized world.
  • MAVA is a Swiss-based philanthropic foundation with an exclusive focus on the conservation of biodiversity. It was created in 1994 by Luc Hoffman, co-founder of WWF. MAVA works through partnerships rather than implementing its own projects and focuses in building extensive conservation capacity, creating and supporting conservation institutions and influencing policy. To date, it has supported more than 700 projects, implemented by over 280 different organisations. These include international and local NGOs, research institutions, universities and occasionally government bodies or individuals.

  • Franziska has been with myclimate for 6 years, is Member of the Management Committee and Head of Climate Protection Projects responsible for a team of 8 project managers and more than 70 projects worldwide fostering renewable energies and energy efficiency.
  • myclimate is an international initiative with Swiss roots founded in 2002, focused on climate protection through consultation, education and climate protection projects. myclimate pursues this as a science-based and business-orientated non-profit organisation. myclimate provides carbon management and compensation solutions aligned with sustainable development criteria. Their work is focused on avoidance techniques such as capacity building and teaching, reduction (including energy efficiency, renewable energy and management methods) and carbon offsetting via a portofolio of about 70 projects in 30 countries, certified by myclimate under the CDM and/or Gold Standard and run by partner organizations in situ.

  • Paulo is one of the co-founders from Sustinova and is responsible for the development of the network and different activities. For the past 12 years, his work has covered different areas of sustainability in the academic, corporate and NGO spheres.
  • SUSTINOVA is a not-for-profit association based in Zurich, Switzerland, and devoted to promoting Sustainability in the NGO area by building solutions for the community, strengthening the networking of stakeholders and the practical application of know-how. Started in 2013, Sustinova acts partly as a "doer" and partly as a "supporter" organisation, working with project initiatiors, supporters and other stakeholders.
